Joseph Smith's Birthplace

We can now add Vermont to places we have been. Before my parents left we traveled to VT to visit some of it's wonders. The first stop was JS birthplace. What a wonderful spirit that is there. The tabernacle choir is piped through the trees and it sounds like they are really there. There was a wonderful missionary couple from Utah that gave us our tour. The Elder was wonderful at telling us stories of Lucy Mac Smith and her family, the memorial, and he even gave us a great lunch location. It was a wonderful visit. The kid's favorite part is they got to ride a golf cart to the different home locations. The cellars of some of Lucy Mac's family are still there and preserved.

The memorial itself is 381/2 feet high, one foot for every year that Joseph lived. The story of how it was brought to it's location and the man behind it all, was amazing. And I couldn't do it justice, but there was no doubt that the Lord's hand was involved.

Thanks for sharing everything from your trip. By the way, the picture of the kids' feet is my new favorite picture.
