Happy V-day (late, of course)

I had a wonderful time thinking of my "valentines" all month long. I made chocolate boxes for them, like last year. And my friend Emily and I got together and traded goodies for them. Yumm. I also included my mom's sugar cookie recipe. I'm not a huge sugar cookie fan (no chocolate in them) but, if I am going to have some, they HAVE to be this recipe. They turn out so yummy and soft.

Keeping up with Elliot.

Elliot is in full swing to becoming a "big girl." She keeps me so darn busy, I collapse at night after she goes to bed. Last week she decided, while I was blogging, that she was big enough to paint her own nails. Which I found her doing in my room, with 5 different colors all of their tops off and laying on my carpet!!! And the first thing I screamed at her..."this is a rental house" Which is probably my most famous saying these days with her, and the other kids. Anyway, the whole reason I found her, is because she was screaming, because she had painted her face and gotten nail polish in her mouth! I didn't feel too bad for her, but the poor carpet is ruined. And I am a little smarter about checking on this little girl.

Daddy Spa

What little girl wouldn't want her Daddy to paint her nails....well, Caleigh had to be talked into it, but I think she realized what a good thing she had when her Dad was done. Truly, Mike is the best choice, with his artistic abilities.

Birthday Boy

Our Griffin is 7 now. I teased him saying, "Griff, I just got rid of two 7 year olds, do you think you could stay 6?" He asked what was wrong with 7yr olds. Nothing, just means everyone is growing up.

Seriously though, Griffin is the BEST kid. He is a great listener, and rarely needs to be told twice to do something. He is kind and considerate, in fact, he told his brother and sisters all he wanted for his birthday was for everyone to be kind to each other for the whole day. He always seems to be happy and in a good mood. He takes such good care of Elliot when he's in charge of her. Which you can tell, since she loves to run to him when he gets home from school.

Griffin has been working really hard this year with learning to read, and in his speech therapy. He also has discovered a love for writing (I wonder where he gets that?) and his teacher says he often has to attach more paper to the end of his journal pages so he can finish his thoughts. He requested a journal this year, and writes in it almost every night. Then the next morning he has me help him correct all the misspelled words. He also loves spending time with Mike watching football. He asked Mike all the time, "Dad, is there a football game on tonight."

Happy birthday Griffin.

Griffin wanted to go Bowling for his birthday and he invited the Titus family to join us.
