Outfield Miles

Miles made the big jump from rookies to the Majors this year with baseball. He had to be drafted to a team, and the sport gets a whole lot more intense this year.

Miles enjoyed last year, and I don't think he's hating this year, but it hasn't been all the fun and games he expected (or at least what I expected) He's learning a little and making some new friends. Mostly he loves being on a undefeated team (oh, except the game they had to forfeit because the other coach started yelling at our teams coach and so we ended the game early but the score was in our favor, so we still feel like winners). He doesn't get to play much, and has yet to hit a ball in a game. But he seems to be having a good time, and learning the biggest lesson of all, "baseball does not define him." He might not be the best out there, he's still new to the sport, and he might not have any natural talent, sorry buddy but you know who your parents are, but he's learning that he can be just okay at some things and it doesn't have to derail his self esteem.

I'm pretty proud of him. Even when he does manage to get on base (thank goodness for the 4 ball rule) and when he slides into home missing the plate by inches. Good job Miles.

He's just getting so big! I love it! You are so wise Laura, I love to learn from you. Poor Cj is struggling with baseball- his self-esteem, and so I pretty much can't stand the sport. But he loves it! odd!
